CommUnity Zone unites area nonprofit organizations and the people in our community through supporting community education. Their goal is to help create a strong, united and thriving community by promoting the expansion of diversity and social justice in the Central Susquehanna Valley. They believe in the importance of equal opportunity and in valuing persons of all racial, ethnic and gender identities, sexual orientations and religious and secular affiliations.
This year, Community Zone has four Bucknell student volunteers that oversee many different aspects of the agency. Volunteers participate in fundraising, research, web design, and in community programming. The center’s community programs include a variety of activities such as dance lessons, festivals, technology assistance workshops, seed swapping, and events that support local businesses and organizations.
How to get involved:
Community Zone offers both volunteer and work study positions for public relations and administrative/clerical experience. Help generate change in our community!
