The Lewisburg Prison Project is a nonprofit organization that works to provide legal and other assistance to the prisoners of Central Pennsylvania. This organization works with the Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project to handle prisoner complaints. Together they focus on public interest work, civil rights, and prisoner rights. The Lewisburg Prison project offers several opportunities for the Bucknell community to get involved through paid internships and volunteer positions. Individuals that decide to work with the Lewisburg Prison Project are able to gain valuable work experience under the supervision of attorneys. Volunteers and interns assist in legal research, office functions, and in corresponding with/ visiting prisoners.
