Concern is an adoption, counseling, and foster care agency. This non profit organization focuses on providing a traditional family setting for children rather than institutional accommodations in order to meet the unique needs of each individual.
In the past, Bucknell students have volunteered for Concern in groups and have accomplished small renovation projects for their Lewisburg facility. Last year, a group of Management 101 students carried out a landscaping project to enhance Concern’s visitation area for the children.
Are you interested in getting involved with Concern?
Concern has occasional foster care volunteer opportunities. Foster care volunteers become advocates for children in the process of receiving a permanent home. They get involved with the child’s foster parents, teachers, relatives, and social workers in order to help determine what the best option for the child is.
Another way to be a Concern volunteer is by collaborating with their seasonal events such as Christmas gift wrapping and fundraisers. If interested in performing any group volunteer projects or in any of the volunteer opportunities mentioned, please contact the Office of Civic Engagement or Concern. Get involved with a positive and engagement service learning activity in your community!
