dreamcatcher farm

The Lewisburg Dreamcatcher farm is a diverse farm committed to providing healthy food for the community. A large focus of the farm is to provide their animals with the best treatment possible and to maintain healthy soil that leads to the excellent produce they sell locally.

Dreamcatcher Farm offers various opportunities for the Bucknell community to become involved with their nutritional initiatives as well as with the farm a whole. They offer great work study positions such as web mastering that focuses on enhancing the farm’s website in a way that will attract more interest from the Lewisburg community. The other positions are farm internships. This internship is a paid opportunity for environmentally aware students to enhance their agricultural knowledge by planting, harvesting, and cultivating the farm area while learning about alternatives for CAFO’s and GMO’s.

Are you interested in getting involved with Dreamcatcher Farm?

If so, contact the Bucknell Office of Civic Engagement’s work study representative Jose Figueroa (jjf022@bucknell.edu ) to receive more information about the positions and to double check financial aid eligibility for work study.

Who is Flat Bucky?

The Office of Civic Engagement would like to introduce you to our newest member. Flat Bucky is based off the children’s book Flat Stanley and the Flat Stanley Project. In the book Stanley is “flattened” when his bulletin board falls on him and then his parents mail him around the world in an envelope. School children have mailed Flat Stanley’s to their friends and family and have gotten to see him travel around the world in photographs.

With the appearance of Flat Bucky we hope to increase the visibility of service work and civic engagement and to celebrate the great work Bucknellians are doing in Lewisburg and around the world. We hope to show the depth and breadth of what Bucknellians are doing in their communities.

The Office of Civic Engagement would like any Bucknellians who are doing service to take Flat Bucky with them and take their photo and send it into us at flatbucky@bucknell.edu. We will then put appropriate photos on our Facebook page and website.
